This product must be installed by a qualified electrician/technician. All installations must adhere to local wiring regulations and standards. Amperion - SunStore will not be liable for product malfunctions as a result of incorrectly installed systems.

The Victron Smart BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it has insufficient power left to crank the engine.

When using Bluetooth to program the Smart BatteryProtect, any required engage/disengage levels can be set. Alternatively, one of nine predefined engage/disengage levels can be set with the programming pin (see manual). If required, Bluetooth can be disabled.

Sizing your BatteryProtect
You need to calculate the loads that you're going to have controlled by the device, times 1.25 to get the correct Amps. If you have <50A of anticipated loads, get the 65A model, etc. You want the version that is equivalent to your anticipated loads x 1.25. Oversizing is not an issue, if you anticipate bigger loads in the future, other than footprint of the device and cost.

The Smart BatteryProtect is a uni-directional device. It can only deal with current in one direction, so either current to a load, or current from a charger, but not both currents at the same time. In addition to this, current only can only flow from the IN terminal to the OUT terminal. In case of use with a load, the battery connects to the IN terminal, and in case of use with a charger, the charger connects to the IN terminal.

The Smart BatteryProtect is available in 12/24 V (65, 100 or 220A) and 48 V (100 A).
